TOKIO

Cities are a big pile of streets and buildings, between them; though, there is also life; people, gatherings, activities, itineraries. A particular local culture. Each of us has his or her own recollection of the cities we’ve been in, what follows is my version.
Someone once told me if they had to choose an object to represent me it would be a wall board full of pictures, drawings and collected objects of different sorts. In a way, this page is exactly this, a sum up of my homes and travels. Their singular elements and my personal memories, places, events, meals, routines, etc. Some, are a more touristic version, what I remembered after a couple of days sightseeing. Others, have a hint of home hidden in them.
My homes? I have spent most of my life in Barcelona, and its surroundings, but I have also lived in Tokyo for 2 years during my adolescence, and in Salvador de Bahia for 6 months as part of a university exchange.
My travels? Mostly in the proximity of my homes, Brazil, Japan and Europe.

When drawing my version of each city I try to use the element that for me defines it best:
Amsterdam’s canals, Rio de Janeiro’s steeped hills, Rome’s ruins and piazzas, Kyoto’s temples and Brasilia’s roundabouts.
